Thanks for looking up Rural Foster Care. We started our life as an independent fostering provider in 2002, founded by two social workers each with over twenty years’ experience who wanted to provide a comprehensive, local and personal service for children and young people in care. Since that time we have had over three hundred children placed with our carers, and have seen how – with the help of the Rural support team - they have begun their journey towards recovery from the trauma of whatever it was that brought them into care. Our exciting news is that we are now part of an extended family of organisations, having joined up with two other agencies whose focus and commitment to children’s welfare are similar to our own. While Rural has retained its local offices and its hallmark interest in providing the healing and healthy care available in rural and coastal areas, we also are better able to access a wider range of skills and resources through the combined expertise of our extended family members.
